It is possible to adopt a child, but is it possible to adopt a grandfather? Or a grandchild?
Gabi doesn't have a grandfather but decides to get one for herself. She goes from house to house, until finally, in the last house in the village, he finds a lonely, cantankerous uncle who throws her out on the spot.
But Gabi won't give up. Sooner or later, she finds that she gets more than just cookies and pocket money from the uncle, like a proper grandchild, but it also turns out to be Gabi's greatest pride, that her "grandfather" is a world champion.
The story of two people's wonderful and twisting encounter with a flying paper kite, cherry-picking competition and lots of whistling.
